Bouchercon volunteers are The Best!

Bouchercon is entirely organized and run by volunteers and we would love to have your help! Did you know that some of our volunteers started planning more than three years ago? Really!

During the convention, volunteering is a great way to meet fellow mystery lovers, have fun and help put on a great event. In New Orleans 2025, almost 200 convention attendees volunteered to fill 650 shifts!

You will be able to sign up for volunteer activities beginning LATE AUGUST. That’s 8 weeks before the convention starts and after the panel schedule is announced. You must be registered for the convention to volunteer.

There will many opportunities to volunteer before and during the convention. You can participate easily by helping at an event, presentation or panel that you were already planning to attend. Jobs are rarely complicated and most shifts are not long. You are always welcome to sign up for more than one activity over the five days!

Volunteers can help with:

• Set up of the book bazaar, registration tables, silent auction, etc on Tuesday and Wednesday
• Support Registration by handing out lanyards, books bags, etc
• Timekeeping at panels and presentations – in a reserved, front row seat!
• Set up for events like Author Speed Dating, Debut Author Breakfast, Opening Ceremonies, Saturday Showcase, and more
• Greeting guests at the Bouchercon Info Desk
• Support Hospitality Suite sponsors with set up
• Jump in if needed as an on-call volunteer
